When we enter marriage with a shared faith, it's easy to think our beliefs, values, and worldviews will always align and we have a strong sense of what our lives will look like together. So when our spouse's faith shifts (or in the case of the non-believing spouse, doesn't shift), it's an understandably destabilizing and anxiety-evoking experience.

In our fear, it's tempting to seek reinforcement from friends, try to pressure our spouse to think like we do, or just ignore the differences altogether. But avoiding a difficult reality doesn't make the anxiety go away. In fact, it increases it.

In this mixed-faith relationship workshop, Dr. Finlayson-Fife will speak directly to those navigating the complexities of a mixed-faith marriage. She'll name the pain points and pitfalls that tend to trap couples in this process and offer real tools and a hopeful path forward—one where a marriage doesn't just survive a faith shift, but grows more honest, more intimate, and more resilient because of it.
