This 1 day course will give you practical tools to make your scenes more physically dynamic on stage, and avoid the dreaded '11' default.
We will use theatre and dance techniques to give you a physical vocabulary you can draw from in any given scene.
This is a very physical class, so please wear comfortable clothes you can move easily in (no jeans or hard shoes - trainers or barefoot is best).
What we will cover:
- How to make sure your body is always engaged
- Techniques to create characters who walk / stand differently to ourselves
- The importance of eyeline and body positioning for focus on stage
- Switching between neutral and activated physical states
- Using stage proxemics to enhance your stage presence
All exercises can be adapted as needed for any level of body mobility. Please let me know in advance if you have any specific access needs.
2 Free places are available for low income / underrepresented groups. Please contact me to request a place. No 'proof' or personal details required.
