THIS CONCERT HAS SOLD OUT! Thanks everyone, for your enthusiastic response! Please join the waiting list and I will contact you by Friday the 26th if there is space.
Join us on June 27 for an unforgettable evening with Kara Hansbarger and The Bastards of Twang. Featuring Kara alongside her father, Clark, and sister, Maggie Miller, it’ll be Family Night! And so much more. If you’ve watched their living-room jam videos, you already know this is a truly talented musical crew. Backing them will be the remarkable Bastards of Twang, featuring Jeff Ball, Billy Jackman, and Rob Remington.
Kara Hansbarger is a singer-songwriter known for heartfelt, authentic songs delivered in a warm, lovely tenor. Kara has played everything from tiny bars to major theaters. As a solo artist, she’s performed at Shepherdstown’s Old Opera House, and again with songwriter John R. Miller for an evening of classic country duets. With her folk trio, Kara Allen Clark, she’s appeared at Franklin Park Arts Center and other venues, and she has also guested as a soloist with The Bitter Liberals. Backed by Tyler Childer’s band The Food Stamps, Kara was a guest vocalist for The Mountain Mama’s revue at the famed Keith Albee Theater in Huntington, WV.
Maggie Miller performs regularly with songwriter Chase Campbell in clubs in Richmond, VA. With her high harmonies and lovely leads, Maggie has been a feature performer at the Central PA Festival of Fine Arts and other large venues. She too is a member of Hansbarger/ Reuling/ Miller Family Band.
For over two decades, The Bastards of Twang have played an original mix of roots rock, Americana, blues, and psychedelic folk. Based in Loudoun County, this long-running collaboration of veteran musicians refuses to be boxed in. Drawing from influences that range from Al Green to Johnny Cash, Elmore James to Elvis Costello, Tom Waits to Talking Heads, they treat every song as fair game.. Their distinctive sound blends Bakersfield, New Orleans, Memphis, and SoHo, with a touch of Nashville and Chicago thrown in.
