Jill’s stand-up comedy weekend course is an inspirational taste of learning how to create, write and perform your own stand-up. It's a great way to boost your confidence, improve current skills, learn new ones or just try something different in a safe environment and enjoy a fun introduction to stand-up. The end result is a short stand-up comedy set, which you can choose to perform to your new comedy comrades  in Komedia Bath's intimate Electric Cafe.

"It was easily one of the best things I've ever done. It was an amazing weekend, totally chilled, very fun and at the end of it I had a short comedy set to call my own and a couple of really good new mates." Sarah Powell, Television and Radio Presenter

Jill is a regular judge for the Final of Bath Comedy Festival's "New Act Competition" and runs comedy club "Comic Boom" at Brighton's Komedia. Jill's stand-up comedy courses at Komedia Brighton are the most established in the country. Her full-length comedy courses have a proven and continuous track record of success. Over 20 years of teaching stand-up Jill has trained some of the UK's top television comedians, including Jimmy Carr, Shappi Khorsandi, Simon Evans, Angela Barnes, Seann Walsh and Romesh Ranganathan.

"People say comedy can't be taught. They could learn a lot from Jill Edwards." Jill Edwards Comedy Workshops graduate Jimmy Carr, award winning comic and TV presenter

Places on Jill's weekend comedy courses are regularly bought as Christmas/birthday presents for family or friends. It's a popular gift for someone who's always wanted to have a go at stand-up comedy.

Have you ever laughed?

Jill believes if you've ever laughed you already have the skills you need to make others' laugh. All you need are her straightforward practical comedy writing and performance techniques to help you access your latent comedy skills. Jill's well-established comedy course weekend, which she teaches in a vibrant award winning comedy club, offers you an exciting opportunity to try something different, play, explore, improve your confidence, perform onstage and make friends with your "inner comic."

It's a lot of fun!

Jill's comedy workshops attract people from all walks of life. You do not need to have something funny to say, or know how to write jokes, or feel confident speaking in public. You will learn to do all of this in the classes, and at your own pace. The idea of stand-up comedy might frighten people, but this course is not frightening. Jill's experienced and encouraging teaching approach increases your self-confidence and self-belief, empowering you to enjoy discovering your own comedy voice.

It's a chance to try something different...

It's a unique "experience" weekend that offers you an opportunity to embrace a challenge or step outside your comfort zone in a supportive environment. Skills acquired also apply to other areas of writing, performing, work presentations, wedding speeches. If you have ambitions to be a comedian it's a taste of Jill's training or a chance to explore if pursuing comedy is for you. If you can't get to Jill's full-length comedy course it's a great starting point.
