Event:
Spring is in the air at our rejuvenating DAY RETREAT in the heart of the idyllic market town Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. So, dust off the winter cobwebs and join us for an uplifting experience designed to physically and creatively connect you to the new brighter season.
Throughout the experience you will delve into restorative and revitalising yoga practices, use sustainable materials to create homeware and artwork, alongside enjoy a nourishing and delicious lunch. Finalising the retreat, with an immersive sound bath in St John’s street’s beautiful community centre.
Suitable for beginners to retreat aficionados, our experienced practitioners will accommodate the experience to your needs. The day promises to help you blossom into spring, leaving you brighter as you make new creative connections in the neighbourhood.
Schedule:
10.00- 10.30- Welcome drink and brief intro to the team.
10.30- 12.00- A gentle awakening yoga flow, ideal to get you motivated for the day with @amyyogaflow.
12.00- 1.00- A sustainable art workshop @Jillydoesart & @dylewskastudio where you get to use recycled materials to create unique home wear and art pieces.
1.00- 2.00- A beautiful lunch prepared for you by @samu_kitchen a vegan chef which specialises in using local produce.
2.00- 3.00- An art workshop which utilises community practice to bring us together through creativity.
3.00- 4.00- A relaxing, unwinding yoga session which allows you to relax within the second half of the retreat.
4.00- 4.15- A break and refreshing beverage.
4.15- 5.30- Finalising the day with a sound bath, ideal for grounding and to reconnect with our senses.

Bringing nature and wellbeing to communities and businesses, Jilly Does Art has facilitated workshops for children to world leading businesses like Facebook, LinkedIn and Google. Jilly believes that “everyone is creative.” and since 2018 she has hosted workshops and retreats across Spain, Portugal and the UK as part of Lisboa Social Press.
Most recently she has created exhibitions and artist talks at the John Peel Centre, the APEX in Bury St Edmunds and Endeavour House through Ipswich Council. Alongside this she currently is a Course Director specialising in Art & Design at West Suffolk College.
Now her dream is to unite local communities with seasonal day retreats through art making, music and movement.

FAQ’s:
Do you have to be a practiced yogi to come to this event?
No, our qualified yoga teacher @amyyogaflow designs each session with you in mind. Creating various alterations within a pose to create an uplifting session to match any skill level. If you have any mobility impairments, please let us know before the event so we can cater the day to your mobility and don’t forget to bring your yoga mat.
Do I have to be an artist to attend this day?
Absolutely not! @Jillydoesart believes that everyone is creative. Throughout the day we will try different techniques that embrace a collaborative, sustainable art practice tailored to allow anyone to tap into their inner creativity. By recycling single use plastic, you will leave the day with artworks and home wear to admire at home.
Who can come?
We welcome all genders; guests should be 16 and over to fully take part in the day.
Do you cater for different dietary requirements?
Of course, please let us know before the event so we can design the menu accordingly.
Our chef @samu_kitchen is a vegan caterer and plant lover specialising in using local produce, using 100% biodegradable compostable packaging. Nutrition is a core part of Samu's aim and honouring the powerful effect of food on the body and mind.

I haven’t been to a retreat before, what is the day going to be like?
This is the ideal day if you would like to reignite your inner creativity and connect with your body. We specialise in facilitating a welcoming environment where you can meet like minded local people within a safe, friendly space. The schedule will have a healthy pace so that you can try new things and indulge in wonderful food, art making and movement! What’s not to love!
