Power, Vulnerability, and Changing the World
Power, Vulnerability, and Changing the World
Power, Vulnerability, and Changing the World
Creating a New Vision of Power
About the Workshop
We need a new model of power that is different to what we are seeing in so many places today.
In the workshop, everybody will learn more about their own power, and how to use it consciously. We will move beyond the old pattern of dominance, allow vulnerability, and find the levers that really reach the hearts of people.
If we want to affect real change to world issues, all aspects of being human are important: our feelings, dreams, and desires, our traumas and hurts, as well as our playfulness, lightheartedness, and our capacity to enjoy life.
This workshop is for you if:
- you sense that the dominance style of power is not the only way to express power.
- you work / study in political or psychosocial contexts, in NGOs, social businesses, organizational development, and others interested in systemic change.
- you want to develop more awareness of your power to shape systemic change without burning out.
What to expect:
An interactive and trauma sensitive workshop where everybody gets the chance to work on challenges related to power, vulnerability, and changing the world, both individually and structurally. We want to build a space that models a different approach to dealing with power. A space where we support each other in our individual powers and capacities.
There will be inputs from process-oriented psychology, deep democracy, and we will have group work and processing world issues.
By the end of the workshop, you will:
- have found a source of power within you
- know your style of sharing your power with others and the world
- resolve conflict in a positive and growing way for all involved
- be able to use your own vulnerability as a force for change
- feel more enabled to effect changes to the systemic structures of today's society
