Struggling with a “Problem Horse”? Is your young horse being "tricky"?

This two-Day Clinic is for You, it is suitable for all and for repeat attendance. We now have more instructors so can split the groups to offer more hands-on time if you have already covered the theory previously.

Reset & Rebuild: Understanding & Working With Challenging Horse Behaviours

Does your young horse show stress, refuse to do simple things for you, push your boundaries and your buttons, explode out of nowhere? Worse - do they rear, bolt, buck, nap, leaving you feeling unsafe, unsure and overwhelmed? If you’ve ever asked yourself: “Am I making it worse?”, “Is it me or the horse?”, “Where do I even start?” then this practical, compassionate clinic is designed for you. Drawing on the proven principles of Monty Roberts, Warwick Schiller, Gabi Neurohr, and Conscious Leadership, you’ll learn how to rebuild trust, confidence, and communication - without blame, force, or frustration.

You’ll Learn To:

  • Understand what your horse’s behaviour is really telling you

  • Recognise the emotional patterns behind reactivity

  • Use groundwork to develop calmness, responsiveness, and safety

  • Avoid common mistakes that reinforce the problem

  • Lead with clarity, confidence, and consistency - even when things get tough

Schedule Highlights:

10:00 AM – 1:00 PM | Morning Session: Foundations & Understanding the Problem

  • Clinic Welcome & Safety Briefing: Mental, emotional, and physical safety for horse and human

  • Mindset Matters: Why “feel the fear and do it anyway” is a fast track to A&E

  • Reading the Horse: Understand body language, tension signals, thresholds, and emotional triggers

  • Groundwork with Purpose: Desensitisation and sensitisation techniques to build clarity, trust, and responsiveness

  • Handler Reflection: Learn how our own emotions, habits, and unspoken signals can accidentally reinforce unwanted behaviours

  • Meta-Patterns & Mistakes: Spot hidden loops like over-repetition, unclear boundaries, or inconsistent leadership that keep both you and your horse stuck

1:00 - 1:45 PM | Lunch Break: we'll provide soup and rolls for lunch whilst we all reflect, connect and reset

1:45 - 4:30 PM | Afternoon Session: Practical Solutions & Rebuilding Trust

  • De-Spooking with Confidence: Exposure to flags, ropes, obstacles, and more - without force or fear

  • Emotional Recovery in Real Time: Learn how to support your horse through stress, regain connection, and avoid overwhelm

  • Behaviour Change in Action: Safe, structured ways to reshape habits like napping, resistance, or explosive reactions

  • Wrap-Up & Action Planning: Reflect, ask questions, and leave with a clear, achievable next step tailored to your unique situation

  • This clinic is your chance to stop managing symptoms and start solving the root cause - ethically, safely, and effectively

  • Whether your horse is “too much,” “shut down,” or simply misunderstood - there’s another way forward

No prior experience needed - just a willingness to learn, connect, and grow.
