SDPC Member's Book Club
Love to read? Bring your love of literature and your psychoanalytic lens together in this new peer-led book club, exclusively for SDPC members.
Who can join? Any SDPC member who loves to read non-text books!
Format: The organizer, Carol Koenigsberger, will lead the first meeting but afterwards other participants will be responsible for choosing the next read and suggesting questions to discuss. This is a peer-led group where everyone participates!
What are the groups goals:
- Discuss the perspectives of fictional or real characters from diverse backgrounds
- Process the emotional experiences that come up while reading
- Explore and relate to each book through a psychoanalytic lens
Schedule:
The Book club will meet 5 times a year:
- Saturday, September 12, 2:00-3:30pm (first meeting)
- Saturday, November 14
- Saturday, January 9
- Saturday, March 13
- Saturday, May 8
Cost: $20 registration (covers snacks and drinks)
Space is limited to 12 participants, sign up to reserve your spot!

About Carol Koenigsberger, MD, PhD: Carol Koenigsberger is a Psychiatrist, Psychoanalyst, and an avid reader. She loves to read about diverse topics and peoples. Reading is an invitation to inhabit other realities and in doing so, deepening an understanding of the human condition. |
