Our Contemporary Rites of Passage Adventure (ROPA)
is a weekend event for teenage boys.
On the 25th-27th April, 25 teenage boys and 50 men will gather for a weekend of discovery and transformation.
"There's so many things I've done this weekend
that I'm probably never going to do ever again in my life.
It's changed me as a person and it's great."
For centuries, boys have stepped away from the world to find themselves.
Now it’s your turn.
Over one intense weekend and alongside a community of men, you’ll face challenges that test your body, mind, and spirit. You’ll step into ancient archetypes and discover parts of yourself you didn’t know existed. Through story, fire and challenge, you’ll walk in as one version of yourself and leave as another.
Are you ready?
Do it to...
- Build the skills you need to confront challenges in your life and shape the man you want to be
- Connect with a group of skilled male mentors and other teenage boys
- Explore questions like
- Who am I?
- Where am I going?
- How will I get there?
Limited spaces available.
“I got rid of so much anger and stress that I’ve had inside of me for so many years.
I didn’t think it was possible. I see the world in a different way now. I can’t thank you enough, honestly.”
Everything you do is by choice and you can pass at any time but you will be challenged. Using a variety of methods and approaches our skilled and trained mentors create the space for you to challenge yourself and discover new ways of being in the world.
We welcome teenage boys (13-19) from any location.
You will be camping comfortably with personal tents (not sharing) with all hot meals and snacks provided. This is not an outdoor physically challenging or bushcraft-style experience. This is about you becoming the kind of man you want to be.
Parent and Carers you can view the Parents & Carers Pack here.
We also have a budget for bursary places, if you would like to apply for a bursary please complete this form. Applications will be reviewed and rewarded on a rolling basis so please apply as soon as you're able.
100% of boys said ROPA helped them better understand themselves and their emotions.
You will be required to fill out a detailed information form that will be sent out with plenty of time prior to the event. This needs to be completed for every teenage boy attending. We will do our absolute best to accommodate the needs of boys in anyway we can but we reserve the right to refuse and refund if we feel like we cannot accommodate appropriately.
If you have any questions or concerns, we’re happy to discuss them with you. Please contact Siobhán on 07812 043 344 or siobhan@journeymanuk.org or our CEO, Max on 07814 303 456 or max@journeymanuk.org.
