The Investigations Series: How To Use Freedom Of Information Requests In Investigations
In the second event in our new investigations series, seasoned investigative reporter Vicky Gayle looks at how you can use freedom of information requests (FOIs) to unearth information and hold power to account, no matter what field of journalism you're in.
We'll be covering:
- Understanding FOIs and how to use them;
- Coming up with ideas for stories based on FOI requests;
- Filing a request and making sure it's valid;
- Dealing with rejections;
- Moving the story forward to create impact.
Want to come to the whole investigations series (and every other event we run) for just £6.99 a month? Become a Journo Resources member here and help us in our mission to build a better journalism industry.
