Breaking Into Branded Content and Content Writing

Over the course of her career she has written for publications including Cosmopolitan, Refinery 29, Digital Spy, Metro, ELLE, Stylist and more, and she is the author of the newsletter Mixed Messages. 

Needless to say, Isabella knows a thing or two about building brands, creating content for brands, and connecting audiences to campaigns, products, and ideas. In the session, Isabella will cover:

• What branded content actually is;
• The difference between branded content and editorial writing;
• How to find opportunities and build your network;
• How to best frame your existing writing experience in your portfolio;
• The common things that freelancers get wrong when moving from editorial to commercial work.

Isabella Silvers is a multi-award-winning journalist and former Branded Content Editor. She is the founder of Mixed Messages, a newsletter on mixed-race identity, and hosts A Suitable Book, a podcast interviewing South Asian authors.

Types Of Ticket

Live Ticket: Select a live ticket if you'd like to watch the session live. You'll receive a Zoom link to join when you order. Don't worry if your plans change though – we will also send you a copy of the recording and session notes via email. This is normally 24-48 hours after the session to allow time for us to edit the recording.

Watch Back / Recorded: If you just want to watch back, please select a recorded ticket. This allows us to keep a handle on numbers and make sure we have enough seats around our virtual table. Again, no worries if you change your mind, you will still be sent the Zoom link, so no need to let us know if your plans change. You will typically be sent the recording 24-48 hours after the live session, to give our team time to edit.
