Solutions Journalism & Interactive Storytelling with Journo Resources and The Solutions Journalism Network
Mon 18 May 2020 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM BST
Online, Zoom
Description
With journalists writing more stories on the coronavirus than you can shake a stick at, solutions journalism has never been more important. Join us on Monday, May 18 for a masterclass on how you can incorporate it into your work (even if you are stuck behind a desk) and how we created an immersive storytelling experience.
To celebrate the launch of our very first choose your own adventure game, thanks to the support of the Solutions Journalism LEDE Fellowship, we're putting together an evening of inspiring talks from industry leaders. We'll be hearing from:
Julia Hotz, Community Manager at the Solutions Journalism Network, who will be sharing insights on the background to solutions journalism and the need for it right now.
Jem Collins, the founder and director of Journo Resources will be talking about easy ways you can incorporate solutions journalism into your work, along with some inspiration.
Jack Dearlove, the design lead at Journo Resources, will be talking through how they made their own 90s-themed game, and how you can create similar projects.
As well as our three talks, you'll also get the chance to throw any questions you'd like to our panel, some free digital goodies, and the chance to play along live with our solutions journalism choose your own adventure,.
Tickets cost just £4, with all proceeds going to support independent media and help more young people break into journalism. Can't afford it but would like to swing along? We'll sort it! Email us on jem@journoresources.org.uk.
