Journo Resources and Akin Magazine are delighted to once again team up for this online masterclass, running you through the basics of both branding and Instagram in a one-off double session.
A collaboration of both outlet's 'Masterclass' and 'How To' series, this event has been designed with journalists, individuals and small businesses in mind, and all funds raised with go directly to supporting independent media outlets and diversity within the media. Plus, if you're self-employed, it's very much tax-deductible!
Your ticket will include:
- An introduction to the basics of branding from Akin Magazine's Founder Alice Daisy Pomfret.
- An introduction to the basics of building your own Instagram account from Journo Resources Founder Jem Collins.
- A free pack of digital goodies to get your going with your Instagram and branding afterwards.
- The opportunity to ask your questions live during and after the session and share your own ideas and work.
As well as running through the basics of design and Instagram, we'll also be sharing inspiration and further resources to continue your learning.
Meet The Tutors:
Alice Daisy Pomfret is the founder and editor of Akin, an independent bi-annual magazine and creative community based in Norwich. Akin holds regular events, as well as pop-up shops stocking more than 50 independent magazines. Alice has also worked with outlets including RANKIN, The Guardian, and MagCulture.
Jem Collins is the founder and director of Journo Resources, a non-profit which helps young people break into and progress within journalism. They publish a range of free to use tools and resources, as well as running regular low-cost events. She has also worked with national outlets such as The i Paper, Metro.co.uk, and PinkNews.
As ever, this event is being run entirely at cost price, with all ticket fees going to cover the costs of running the event. Any surplus will be used to directly support more young people breaking into journalism. If you're struggling with costs, please get in touch.
