Creating And Launching Your Own Newsletter
Creating And Launching Your Own Newsletter
Join Jem Collins of Journo Resources, Kate Samuelson of CHEAPSKATE London, Nicola Slawson of The Single Supplement and others for an hour-long newsletter masterclass.
We’ll run you through the basics of launching a newsletter, from working out which provider to go with, to supplying tips for growing your subscriber base. Whether you’re a journalist, a small business, or someone who’s simply a fan of the medium, you’ll leave this workshop with a greater understanding of how newsletters work – and how you can make them work for you.
The hour-long session will include the opportunity to ask questions, which you can direct to a specific speaker or to the panel in general.
This event is ‘pay what you think it’s worth’, with a minimum donation of £4 which will be divided equally between the speakers. Remember, if you're self-employed, whatever you donate is tax-deductible!
We don’t want money to be a barrier though, so if you're struggling with costs please get in touch by emailing jem@journoresources.org.uk.
Meet the panel:
Jem Collins is the founder and director of Journo Resources, a non-profit which helps young people break into and progress within journalism. They publish a range of free to use tools and resources, as well as running regular low-cost events. She has also worked with national outlets such as The i Paper, Metro.co.uk, and PinkNews.
Kate Samuelson is the founder and editor of CHEAPSKATE London, the free weekly email newsletter listing London’s best free events. From film and live music to exercise classes and workshops, the aim of CHEAPSKATE is to make London’s cultural riches accessible to all. When the pandemic struck, the newsletter pivoted to focus on free at-home activities, from virtual quizzes to live-streamed life drawing.
Nicola Slawson is the founder of The Single Supplement, which is a popular weekly newsletter exploring the highs and lows of being single. Nicola set it up after getting sick of the lack of quality content out there for independent single women. Each week she writes about the single experience as well as curating content she thinks her readers will find interesting. Although it is aimed at single women, the newsletter is also read by men as well as those in relationships.
