How To Use Twitter Spaces and Instagram Live To Promote And Create Journalism

Wed 8 Jun 2022 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM BST

Online, Zoom

Description

Interested in learning how to use Twitter Spaces, Clubhouse, Instagram Live and other live broadcast mediums to craft compelling stories and build an engaged audience around your work? Music journalist and founder of Afrobeats Intelligence, a weekly newsletter and social forum dedicated to amplifying continental African music and popular culture helps reimagine the possibilities. Within this workshop, Joey reminds us that when you have a story to tell, find your way to tell it first and the right community will tap in.

This workshop will cover:

  • Practical tips on building a successful platform and audience from the ground up,
  • Insights on how to mediate live conversations on Twitter Spaces, ClubHouse, Instagram Live and other live mediums,
  • A granular look at conducting meaningful interviews, to help you create fresh perspectives and maintain a conversational tone.
Joey will also look at alternative routes into the industry, and what it looks like to reinvent journalism for yourself.

Types Of Ticket

Live Ticket: Select a live ticket if you'd like to watch the session live. You'll receive a Zoom link to join when you order. Don't worry if your plans change though – we will also send you a copy of the recording and session notes via email. This is normally 24-48 hours after the session to allow time for us to edit the recording.

Watch Back / Recorded: If you just want to watch back, please select recorded ticket. This allows us to keep a handle on numbers and make sure we have enough seats around our virtual table. Again, no worries if you change your mind, you will still be sent the Zoom link, so no need to let us know if your plans change. You will typically be sent the recording 24-48 hours after the live session, to give our team time to edit.
