What Would Love Do Now?
Sat 16 Jul 2022 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM BST
St John the Baptist Church, Middle Street, Beeston, Nottingham, NG9 1GA
Description
An evening of songs, poems and stories exploring what matters to each of us at the end of life.
'What Would Love Do Now?' was originally a poem by Julie Barnes and has become a song cycle, co-created with Judith Silver. This will be the centrepiece of our event, along with other thought-provoking, uplifting readings, personal stories and songs designed to encourage open reflections and conversation about choices and wishes at the end of life.
These events are being held in Warwick (2 April), Brighton (25 June) and Nottingham (16 July), and local musicians and end of life practitioners will contribute.
The events will also feature Companion Voices singers, introducing the idea of singing to people at the end of life and sharing some of our songs (www.companionvoices.org).
There will be an interval allowing time for informal reflections and conversations, between audience members and any end of life organisations or practitioners present e.g. Soul Midwives, Death Cafe representatives, local end of life resources and services.
Seating is limited so advance booking is recommended. We appreciate your paying the full price or concession according to your means and if neither is possible, please contact us to reserve your place as we will not exclude anyone due to lack of funds.
We will ensure this event is as Covid-safe as possible, asking everyone to test before attending, stay away if they are unwell or have had contact with anyone who is and providing an area where more vulnerable or cautious people can be more distanced.
Donations to support Companion Voices CIC in providing inspiration and comfort to people at the end of life are appreciated.
