Justice for Palestinians Leamington Spa invite you to join us for a stimulating and challenging look at the current situation in Palestine with a particular focus on the impact of Israel's genocide on children. We have two eminent speakers - both originally from Gaza.

Marwan Yaghi, Political Counsellor at the Embassy of Palestine, London

Marwan was brought up and educated in Gaza and still has family there. Before joining the Embassy, Marwan Yaghi worked as a lawyer and a human rights activist.  At one time he worked at the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights, based in Gaza.

His main areas of interest included human rights, war crimes, torture, and arbitrary detention. Marwan was a Chevening scholar for the year 2021/2022 and then studied International Human Rights (LLM) at Essex University and then conducted investigations into human rights violations around the world, using open-source techniques.

He is currently working on a Ph.D in the War Studies Department at King’s College London

Marwan will speak about the current situation in Palestine and his hopes for a positive resolution of the future for its people.

Ehab Al Sharief

Ehab comes from Gaza and still has family there. In the UK he works as an engineer at a technology company. He has worked across the Middle East, Africa, and the UK, contributing to the development of infrastructure projects.

Since the start of the current war on Gaza, Ehab, along with other British Palestinians with loved ones in Gaza, co-founded the British Palestinian Families Network (BPFN). The group advocates through democratic channels to share the Palestinian perspective and call for peace.

Ehab also volunteers as the Advocacy and Campaigns Manager for Children Not Numbers, a non-profit founded by two UK-based lawyers and mothers. The organization is driven by the urgent need to support Palestinian children affected by conflict. It provides immediate aid and long-term rehabilitation, ensuring access to medical care, education, and advocacy.

Ehab will introduce the British Palestinian Families Network and talk about the work of Children Not Numbers and the work they are doing especially to bring Palestinian children over to the UK for medical treatment.

We are not charging for this event, but there will be a collection on the night to cover hall hire costs, with any balance going to Children Not Numbers.  You can also make a donation direct via their website and add gift aid if applicable.  We recommend a donation of at least £5 per person.  Capacity is limited and the Peace Festival means there will be a lot of interest, so please don't wait too long to book your seat!
