Need help?
Join us for an informative Learning Brunch exploring the new enforcement duties introduced under the Renters' Rights Act from 1 May 2026 and how the council is responding to these changes.
We'll hear from the council's Tenancy Relations team about their work supporting tenants with issues that arise during their tenancy, alongside an overview of the responsibilities of the Private Sector Housing and Trading Standards teams.
The session will cover:
- The new enforcement duties under the Renters' Rights Act
- The role of Tenancy Relations Officers and the issues they deal with
- How different council teams work to address breaches
- How frontline workers can identify and report potential breaches to the relevant team
This is a great opportunity for frontline workers to better understand tenants' rights, the council's enforcement responsibilities and how to raise concerns when supporting people in private rented housing.
Whether you're familiar with the changes or new to the topic, you're very welcome to join us, share your experiences and learn more about how these changes may affect the people you support.
