2 day IOSH Safety & Health Management in Education - Wigton

This is a 2 day course on the 10th & 17th June. Please make sure you are available for both dates.

This 2 day course aims to:

• Provide candidates with specific knowledge to ensure familiarisation with and awareness of safety requirements particularly relevant to educational and childcare settings, to enable them to manage and review health and safety systems in their own workplace.
• Provide candidates with the necessary skills and confidence to appreciate risk management in an educational or childcare setting, be able to assess risks, and complete suitable risk assessments in their work environment.
• Provide a general understanding of the common hazards faced in the education and childcare sectors and how these may be managed effectively.
• Develop the skills and confidence for candidates to be able to manage health and safety effectively within their area of responsibility.

Day 1

• Module 1: An introduction to Managing Safely in Education & Childcare settings
• Module 2: The management of Accidents
• Module 3: Risk Assessments
• Module 4: Health and Safety Law: an education and childcare perspective
• Module 5: Monitoring Health & Safety Performance in Education & Childcare settings
• Module 6: Health and Safety Management Systems in Education & Childcare settings

*At the end of day 1 delegates will receive their ‘project’ which should be completed for submission on day 2 (this must be completed in order to gain the full qualification).

Day 2

• Module 7: Key Hazards in Education & Childcare including:

Stress, Contractors, Violence & Aggression, Fire Safety, Working at Height, Asbestos, Educational Visits, Lone Working, Electricity, Computer Safety, Legionella, Hazardous Substances, Manual Handing, Transport and Slips, Trips and Falls.

• KAHSC Subscribers 2 day course + lunch on both days - £295 + VAT
• Non-subscriber 2 day course + lunch on both days - £325 + VAT

Additional Information

• The Course Provider is KAHSC. Your Trainer will be Gordon Hastings of KAHSC.
• Tea, coffee and light lunch will be provided. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.
• This course is licenced by IOSH. On completion of the course delegates will receive a certificate of attendance and a certificate of completion from IOSH.
