Art x Innovation: Conditioning with Artificial Intelligence and Stupidity | Screening & Conversation with Kuang-Yu Tsui
MA Innovation Management invites you to Art x Innovation Series 02. Presented by C & G Artpartment and co-presented with Kakilang, with support from the Ministry of Culture, Taiwan.
Every day we follow rules nobody wrote down. What happens when a machine tries to understand them?
Taiwanese artist Kuang-Yu Tsui uses humour and absurdity in performance-based video and urban interventions to expose the invisible systems shaping our behaviour. In Mimicry Elise Protocol, he asks AI to study human behaviour from a machine’s perspective. The results can seem stupid. Look again: that may be where the intelligence lies.
MA Innovation Management and Kakilang invite you to a screening and discussion with Tsui and C&G Artpartment, an independent artist-led curatorial platform, exploring the “glitch aesthetic” and how AI’s errors prompt creativity and criticality.
Screening:
- The Welcome Rain Falling from the Sky (1997)
- Eighteen Copper Guardians in Shao-Lin Temple and Penetration: The Perceptive (2001)
- Invisible City: Liverpool Top 9 (2006)
- Selected videos from Mimicry Elise Protocol (2026)
Kakilang is a non-profit arts organisation championing East and Southeast Asian (ESEA) artists and communities.
