Songs with Spirit, Songs for the Soul

Songs with Spirit, Songs for the Soul with Pip Wright is an invitation to to start the week in the deep and joyful experience of meditative harmony singing.

Each series runs for 6 sessions spaced throughout the term. We sing in circle, with a limited number of singers at the back of St Pol de Leon church, Paul - filling the ancient, beautiful, devotional space and ourselves with resonant harmonies.

We blend our voices in songs and chants with meaning and purpose: songs of peace, praise, change, celebration, love, loss and devotion. Together we create improvised ‘Sound Baths’ and a space for meditation through song. 

No need to read music - the songs are taught by ear - backed up with lyric sheets or occasional scores where appropriate. Chairs provided - plenty of free parking opposite (& session times tie-in with the bus from Penzance).  Singers are welcome to bring a hot drink and to stay on to socialise for half an hour after each session if they wish - all optional, relaxed and informal. There is also outdoor seating in the 'Peace Garden' - a beautiful contemplative space with stunning views down to Mounts Bay.

We sing from 9.45 - 11.00am (You are welcome to arrive from 9.15am)

Songs with Spirit, Songs for the Soul series are bookable in advance (£7 a session). You are welcome to book a place for the series providing you can make at least 4 of the 6 sessions - you will be asked when booking to specify which sessions you will attend. If £7 a session is beyond your reach, you are welcome to come and sing, please contact Pip to make a (confidential) arrangement which suits what you can manage. Early booking advised - numbers are limited to keep the space comfortable (Songs with Spirit, Songs for the Soul has been fully booked for recent series).
