Songs with Spirit, Songs for the Soul

Songs with Spirit, Songs for the Soul with Pip Wright is an invitation to to start the week in the deep and joyful experience of meditative harmony singing. It is a practice some of us have been doing for well over a decade now, connecting with ourselves and each other through harmony and song.

Monday Mornings

• 9.45 - 11.00am when at Paul / The Gardeners' House
• 10.00 - 11.30am when at St Anthony in Meneage

The Summer '26 series will include 4 sessions spaced throughout the term. We will sing both at our 'home' venue of St Pol de Leon church, Paul and go 'on tour' to the beautiful medieval church of St Anthony in Meneage on the Lizard Peninsular, as well as to the lovingly restored Gardeners' House in the heart of Morrab Gardens in Penzance.

At Songs with Spirit, Songs for the Soul we sing in a circle in these ancient, beautiful and devotional locations and fill the space and ourselves with resonant harmonies. We blend our voices in songs and chants with meaning and purpose: songs of peace, praise, change, celebration, love, loss and devotion. Together we create improvised ‘Sound Baths’ and a space for meditation through song.

No need to read music - the songs are taught by ear - backed up with lyric sheets or occasional scores where appropriate. Numbers are limited to a maximum of 24 singers. Chairs are provided and singers are welcome to linger afterwards for coffee & refreshments.

Summer Series 2026:

1. 11th May at St Pol de Leon, Paul TR19 6TZ
2. 18th May at St Anthony in Meneage, TR12 6JW (for this session we will car share to drive to St Anthony, sing from 10.00am - 11.30am and bring flasks / refreshments for a picnic coffee afterwards)
3. 1st June Gardeners' House, Penzance TR18 4DA
4. 8th June St Pol de Leon, Paul TR19 6TZ

We usually sing from 9.45 - 11.00am (You are welcome to arrive from 9.15am). 

Songs with Spirit, Songs for the Soul series are bookable in advance (£7 a session). You are welcome to book a place for the series providing you can make at least 2 of the 4 sessions - you will be asked when booking to specify which sessions you will attend. If £7 a session is beyond your reach, you are welcome to come and sing -  please contact Pip to make a (confidential) arrangement which suits what you can manage. Early booking advised - numbers are limited (Songs with Spirit, Songs for the Soul has been fully booked in the past).
