SINGING WORKSHOP with Una MCCANN from Northern Ireland

Join us for a fabulous day of singing with Una McCann.

Through Kana Kernow (Singing Cornwall), I am delighted to be able to invite the inspiring song-writer, performer and choir leader Una McCann to offer a singing workshop for the 1st time in West Cornwall.

Una writes melodies and words that will stay in your head for weeks to come. Her songs are funky, harmoniously rich compositions, often with a Gospel influence, easy to learn and enormously satisfying to sing. Her lyrics are joyful and heart opening.

Una is a hugely popular songwriter, choir leader and musician based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She has been leading groups in harmony since her school days and now runs 6 Natural Voice style weekly choirs.

With a passion for inclusion and bringing all voices into the room, Una’s workshops are fun and engaging. Every voice is welcome - especially shy singers or people who have been told not to sing. You can expect to enjoy a fun and relaxing day immersed in beautiful harmony and to leave with your head and heart full.

Outline of the day
Please bring your own drinks/refreshments for throughout the day (i.e. for morning and afternoon breaks, and lunch). We will set up the hall so there is space to be free of your picnics and belongings while singing and so you can relax and enjoy refreshments at break times with friends old and new.

From 9:30am - Registration

10 - 11:15am - Welcome, warm up and Singing
11:15 - 11:30am - Break
11:45am - 1pm - Singing

1 - 1.45pm - Lunch break - You are encouraged to bring your own lunch (unless you want to walk down into Marazion c. 15 minutes down a steep hill to pick up a pasty or similar)

1.45 - 3:00pm - Singing
3:00 - 3:15pm - Break
3:15 - 4:00pm - Singing

Kana Kernow (Singing Cornwall) workshops are relaxed and friendly - all singers are welcome whether or not they sing in a choir or read music. Marazion Community Centre has free parking and good access.

Kana Kernow (Singing Cornwall) - set up by local singing leader Pip Wright - has been inviting excellent singing leaders to West Cornwall since 2013 so we can enjoy exciting, top quality and diverse singing workshops without having to travel 'up the line'.

• *If the event cannot take place due to circumstances outside our control, it will be postponed and your ticket will be valid for the future date. In that situation, if you are unable to make the future date you will be offered a refund.
