Messenger Soundystem + MC Ista Lion in Nethy Bridge!
The mighty Messenger Sound System are coming to Nethy Bridge Village Hall for one very special session… and this is going to be a big one!
Straight out of Edinburgh, Messenger have been carrying the torch for roots reggae and dub culture since the late 80s — a heavyweight custom-built sound system with deep bass, conscious selections of roots and dubwize reggae music. Alongside on the mic is MC Ista Lion, bringing the fire and upliftment all night long. This is grass roots sound system culture, right here in the village hall.
And the food… Jamaican Plates by Brina will be serving authentic Jamaican food from 7pm–9pm, with rich plant-based flavours, and proper home-cooked soul food to keep everybody fuelled. And if we’re lucky, Brina — an incredible reggae singer herself — might just take the mic too…
A foundation roots reggae sound system session in Nethy Bridge doesn’t happen every day — and this will be our last sound system event of the year, so don’t miss your chance to experience it.
Come early for food, stay late to move deeper in to the basslines of the Messenger sound.
