Noche Flamenca Bootleggers Exeter
NOCHE FLAMENCA – An Evening of Live Flamenco
Experience the passion, rhythm and intensity of authentic flamenco as a new monthly flamenco night comes to The Bootlegger Exeter.
Professional flamenco artists Karina Gracia (dance), Jaime Cantera (song & percussion) and David Nash (flamenco guitar) come together for an intimate evening of live flamenco, bringing dance, song and guitar into the atmospheric surroundings of The Bootlegger.
Flamenco is at its most powerful when experienced live and up close. From the intricate rhythms and expressive guitar to the raw emotion of cante flamenco and the power and grace of the dance, the three performers respond to one another in the moment, creating a performance full of energy, emotion and spontaneity.
Whether you already love flamenco or are experiencing it live for the first time, come and enjoy an evening filled with the passion, atmosphere and spirit of this extraordinary Andalusian art form.
Karina Gracia is a professional flamenco dancer and teacher whose Spanish heritage and lifelong passion for dance led her to flamenco. She has trained extensively with flamenco artists in Andalucía, Madrid and the UK and has performed throughout the South West and beyond. Performance highlights include Glastonbury Festival and the lead dance role in New Devon Opera’s touring production of Carmen.
Jaime Cantera is a professional singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Bristol. Having lived and travelled extensively throughout Andalucía, Jaime has absorbed a wide range of musical influences, with his flamenco particularly shaped by the traditions of Jerez and Granada. His expressive cante and percussion bring passion, depth and spontaneity to the performance.
David Nash is a professional flamenco guitarist with 30 years’ playing experience. Originally trained in classical guitar, he later turned his attention to flamenco and has studied with flamenco maestros in both Spain and the UK. His many years accompanying flamenco dance have given him a deep understanding of its rhythms and the close relationship between guitar, song and dance.
