Transforming your story through voice
Our identities are constructed via repeated and reinforced stories - the stories we tell ourselves, the stories others tell about us, the stories of our culture, our in-group. But these narratives don’t only exist in our minds, they are manifest through our bodies - the way we move - and the way we sound.
What is your story? And does it serve you?
When we attend closely to breath, movement, and sound, we begin to realise that we have the power to re-write our story, to change the narrative, to discover new dimensions of our self.
In this 4-week course, we will learn how to surface and interrogate our stories around voice and body. We will empower ourselves through movement and sound to explore new possibilities. These six classes will involve writing and reflection, meditative somatic exercises, playful sounding and moving, and improvisational singing. We will learn to sing with our voices from a place of bodily felt-sense, and we will access our resilient inner storyteller through song.
Are you ready to embrace the transformative power of attention, voice, and movement to shift those old stories?

Kate’s teaching method is exactly in line with the rest of my studies - it’s intuitive, concise, and most importantly experiential. I don’t leave the class thinking I’ve been taught, but that I’ve learned something.
I'm so glad I have connected with you and your teaching. I love the combination of practical and presentation bringing together threads, and the homework between.
I really like the way you present your work, the way you give a very broad view and contextualise the voice in so many aspects of our culture, or our habits, or our emotions. It's perfectly clear that you have a solid and extensive preparation and training, from which you draw to create your sessions, and make them accessible to everyone. I sincerely thank you for your work, it is precious and somehow it lights the way.

About The Embodied Voice 6-week Workshop Series -
A weekly workshop series exploring the mind-body-voice connection, in which targeted lessons on the brain and body are paired with movement and voice exercises to encourage embodied learning. For those who are interested in exploring their voices in a holistic, body-oriented manner, inviting in the expressive, creative, physical, and emotional aspects of voice.
In each series we explore a particular concept using attention, experimentation and improvisation, creating a learning environment where you become the expert on your own body and voice.
While improvement of vocal ability is a central aim of this practice, other outcomes include deeper self-awareness, the functional re-patterning of body and voice habits, improved mental and physical well-being, and ease of creative expression.
These workshops are intended for anyone who would like to explore their voice for any purpose from a body-centred perspective. No prior experience as a singer, mover, or improviser is needed, and while each workshop will build upon previous workshops, they can be attended independently.
What you will receive:
- A link to join the live classes on Zoom
- 6 hours of tuition
- Access to recordings of each class, available for 6 months
- Invitation to join the Voice & Body Facebook group and/or Discord Group to discuss your thoughts and ideas with the community, as well as the opportunity to email Kate with any questions or concerns at any time.
