Clay Mini Mushroom Workshop, £38 all materials included
Sat 26 Oct 2024 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM BST
Sawtry Tea Room, Sawtry, Cambridgeshire, PE28 5SR
Description
Make a collection of miniature fungi and lichens using air-drying clay!
You'll learn how to shape, texture and join the clay using simple tools. Kathryn will share simple step-by-step instructions, and top tips for making your mini sculptures. You can leave them white or paint them at home once they're dry.
Your sculptures will look great on a windowsill or shelf (they're about 5-7cm tall including the base). They make a lovely gift for any nature-lover too!
This gentle, creative workshop lasts 2.5 hours includes a short break when you may purchase refreshments from the Sawtry Tea Room (food and drinks are not included in the workshop ticket).
Materials and tools will be provided.
Please bring:
- a box to take your sculptures home with tissue paper or similar padding (box needs to be at least 10cm tall).
- the clay is sticky - you might want to bring an apron, and/or wear old clothes with sleeves that you can push up
- we'll be working with tiny pieces of clay so if you need glasses for close work please bring them!
- if you have any damaged skin on your hands please cover it with a plaster or wear gloves as clay is an irritant
- some people prefer to remove rings & bracelets in advance, to avoid getting clay in them
Important:
Tickets are non-refundable. In the very unlikely event Kathryn or Sawtry Tea Room cancels the workshop we will attempt to find an alternative date that works for everyone. If that's not possible your money will be refunded. Unfortunately, we cannot refund tickets for any other reason.
Suitability and Accessibility:
The workshop is suitable for people with no prior experience of using clay.
Creative children over the age of 12 are welcome if they are accompanied by an adult and supervised the whole time. Both adult and child will need to purchase a ticket.
We will be working with very small pieces of clay (sometimes smaller than a pea).
If you have any other questions about the suitability of this workshop for you please get in touch with Kathryn.
