A six-week individual art therapy research study exploring their sexuality and identity through creative exploration. Participants must be art therapists or mental health professionals in the Nelson area.

Art therapists and mental health professionals are invited to engage with their sexuality through six weeks of individual art therapy sessions. These sessions explore how therapists’ personal experiences with sexuality may inform their ability to support clients in navigating their own sexuality and sexual identity.

Participants will meet individually with the art therapy intern for six one-hour art therapy sessions at the Kutenai Art Therapy Institute in Nelson, BC. The process will also include an intake session before the six-week exploration begins and a closing session at the end of the study.

Sessions will offer space to explore participants’ experiences, questions, feelings, beliefs, and other themes related to sexuality as they emerge from week to week. Art-making and therapeutic reflection will support this process.

This student-led art therapy is part of a practicum placement. All sessions are conducted under the supervision of a registered art therapist in alignment with KATI's ethical and educational guidelines.
