KAXE Northern Community Radio, was started in Grand Rapids in 1976 as the first rural community radio station in the nation. It is a place that reports on rural Northern Minnesota, shares ideas, talks to innovators, artists, makers and doers throughout our region and beyond. Through programming and events you can hear a great mix of music that stands out above the rest, get connected to nature through Phenology, and hear the artistic community of northern Minnesota lifted up each and every day.
