20–24 July or 27–31 July 2026 · Five afternoons · Paris · 13:00–17:00
This workshop is for you if...
Your teen loves to sing, and they're ready to understand their voice as well as they use it. Whether they're into musical theatre, classical, pop, soul, indie folk, or simply love singing and want to go deeper, this five-afternoon intensive is built for them.
Teen singers from every background and level are brought into the same framework: grounded in vocal science, holistic singing principles, and a trauma-informed approach that puts each young person's experience at the centre. The repertoire they bring is their own. The voice they discover is too.
Places are allocated by application. Details below.
What we cover
Day 1 · Your Voice - Vocal anatomy and getting curious about the instrument they already have.
Day 2 · Your Sound - Tone, colour, and what makes their voice distinctively theirs.
Day 3 · Your Musicianship - Elements of music, and working with other voices and instruments.
Day 4 · Your Style - Genre, expression, interpretation, and making repertoire their own.
Day 5 · Your Stage - Final preparations for ensemble and solo repertoire, and an informal showcase.
How the afternoons run
Each session runs 13:00 to 17:00 and combines themed teaching, ensemble singing, and stagecraft work. Every participant receives one individual 30-minute coaching slot during the week, supported by a collaborative pianist. Sessions are open for observation by other participants.
We close Day 5 with an informal showcase. Ensemble repertoire will be shared with all participants in advance. Solo spots are available for anyone who'd like one - no obligation to perform solo.

A note on eligibility
This programme is application-based, and open to singers aged 12 to 18.
To apply, please complete the online application form and send a short video of around one minute to contact@kaylacollingwood.com. Applicants must be currently working with a voice teacher - this ensures every participant arrives with a foundation to build from, and that the work we do together is supported by their ongoing development outside the intensive.
Not sure if this is the right fit? Just get in touch and we can talk it through.
About me
Hi! I'm Kayla Collingwood. I'm a Paris-based professional singer and voice educator from New Zealand, with over ten years of teaching experience across classical, musical theatre, and contemporary styles. My work integrates science-informed vocal technique, stagecraft, and elements from theatre, movement, and wellbeing practices - supporting young singers to build confidence, curiosity, and a genuine relationship with their voice.
I work with teens who are just beginning to take their singing seriously, and those who are already training formally. What matters most to me is creating a space where every young person feels safe to explore, make mistakes, and grow.

Before you apply - a few important things to know
Repertoire and materials Your teen will need music ready for their individual coaching session. Please have sheet music or a lead sheet available for the pianist. If they're using a backing track, printed lyrics are the minimum required. Their own songs are very welcome. Full details on what to bring will be sent out closer to the date. Ensemble repertoire will be sent in advance.
Payment Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure a place. Places are limited and allocated in order of application acceptance and payment received.
Cancellations and refunds Cancellations made more than 30 days before the workshop start date are eligible for a full refund, minus a €25 administrative fee. Cancellations made 15 to 30 days before the start date are eligible for a 50% refund. Cancellations made fewer than 14 days before the start date are non-refundable. You're welcome to transfer a place to another eligible participant at no extra cost - just let me know in advance.
If I have to cancel the workshop for any reason, you'll receive a full refund.
Health and participation This workshop involves active singing, movement, and physical engagement with the instrument. If your teen has any health conditions, injuries, or access needs I should know about, please get in touch before the workshop so I can make sure the space works for them.
If they're unwell on the day, especially with anything affecting the voice or respiratory health, please stay home. Refunds in this situation are handled on a case-by-case basis, so please contact me as soon as you can.
Photography and recording I may take photos or short video clips during group sessions for use on my website and social media. Preferences will be confirmed in advance with participants and their families. Individual coaching sessions won't be recorded without explicit consent, but participants are welcome to record their own session.
Code of conduct This workshop runs on a trauma-informed, person-centred approach, and that shapes everything about how we work together. Every participant is expected to treat others and themselves with respect, curiosity, and care. There is no hierarchy of ability in this room, and critical or dismissive comments directed at other participants are not okay. I reserve the right to ask anyone to leave if their behaviour is harmful to the group experience. In that situation, no refund will be issued.
If you have any questions before applying, just get in touch. I'm always happy to chat!
