KEEPer Skills Workshop 2026

Join us for KEEP's first ever workshop and get ready for a hands-on, action-packed day of improving your "KEEP"er skills!

To ensure everyone gets the most out of the experience, attendees will be split into two groups, rotating halfway through the day. This means you will get to experience both of our fantastic sessions:

Session 1: Hands-On Fabrication with Team Building with BITE

Grab your tools and get to work! In this interactive session led by Team Building with BITE, you’ll learn the ins and outs of proper tool usage and safe construction techniques. You will put these skills directly to the test by building various enrichment items and enclosure devices from scratch. It's a fantastic opportunity to collaborate, problem-solve, and create tangible items that support animal welfare.

Session 2: The KEEPer Skills

Step into our drop-in skills fayre, designed to give you a crash course in some of the most highly sought-after techniques in animal care. Move at your own pace between multiple interactive stalls, including:

• Mock Rock Construction: Learn the artistic and structural techniques behind creating naturalistic, durable enclosure environments.
• Tool Maintenance & Knife Sharpening: Master the essential, everyday skill of keeping your cutting tools safe, sharp, and effective.
• ZIMS Mastery: Get top tips and hands-on guidance for navigating the Zoological Information Management System like a pro.

Lunch & Networking We will pause midday to refuel, rotate groups, and give everyone a chance to catch up and network with fellow professionals.
