An Evening of Light and Sound: caring

Musician and composer caring layers sounds and textures in real time to create an improvised ambient score with shifting tones and color. Drawing from a collection of synthesizers, an organ, and an electric piano, he channels each instrument through audio filters and delays to build a quadraphonic soundscape whose evolving musical density echoes the light variations and immersive qualities of James Turrell's work.

About caring, the Artist

caring began his sound exploration in earnest playing in non traditional spaces: coffee shops, bookstores, parks, and the occasional underpass and tunnel. His ambient synth music reflects the natural acoustics of whatever space he inhabits. caring's music balances the thin line between order and chaos that comes from his style of live improvisation.

7:40 PM  Doors open. Music by caring and James Turrell's closed-dome lighting sequence begin.
8:00 PM  The dome opens. Music continues. 
8:40 PM  caring composes during the sunset sequence of James Turrell's Come to Good.
9:20 PM  End of program. 

In the event of inclement weather, the performance will take place under the closed-dome lighting sequence, also created by James Turrell. We cannot offer refunds.
