Beautiful Belgium

Join Scott and Mimo as you embark on an unforgettable travel photography workshop in breathtaking Bruges, Belgium, one of the most photogenic cities in all of Europe, and one Condé Nast recently called a city that “resembles a scene from a fairy tale,’ the storybook heart of Belgium.”

Bruges will be our home base as we explore the gorgeous sites, charming canals, and cobblestone backstreets, along with some short trips to wonderful nearby areas like Ghent, which looks like the inspiration for the world of Harry Potter. Each morning, we’re out shooting on location, then we’re back in the classroom editing the images we took that day (or the night before), in Lightroom and/or Photoshop. We take a nice, long afternoon siesta, and then we’re back out shooting with Scott and Mimo teaching, coaching, and helping you to make some absolutely captivating images.

We’ll also be taking a day trip to Brussels (one of my favorite cities in Europe), but Bruges itself is pretty magical all by itself. Our friends at Wikipedia describe it this way: “Bruges (Brugge) is world-famous as a perfectly preserved medieval 'storybook' city in Belgium, often called the 'Venice of the North' for its picturesque canals and romantic, winding cobblestone streets. It is renowned for its UNESCO-listed historic center, stunning Gothic architecture, high-quality chocolate, and historic beer culture.”

TripAdvisor’s 2026 Bruges attractions page ranks the Historic Center of Brugge and The Markt among the very top sights, noting the UNESCO World Heritage status and enduring Gothic architecture. It’s a dream come true for photographers as the historic center is filled with medieval brick facades, stepped gables, cobblestone streets, and canals, so almost every block offers a frame‑ready scene.
