Klezfest Vancouver 2025
Klezwest and Kol Halev Performance Society are sponsoring the first annual Klezfest, a participatory set of workshops for learning, playing, and dancing Klezmer music and Yiddish dance. There will be two workshop, instruments led by master Klezmer teacher and trombonist Dan Blacksberg of Philadelphia, followed by a dance workshop by Avia Moore, Artistic Director of KlezKanada. The day will be topped off with a Family Dance for young and old, newbies and oldies with dance instruction, a performance by Kol Halev dancers, and accompanied by Klezwest musicians and friends.
- 11am Instrumental Workshop for beginner and advanced klezmers, led by Dan Blacksberg
- 2 pm Dance Workshop for beginner and advanced dancers, led by Avia Moore
- 4pm Community Dance for all who want to learn or join Yiddish dance with joyful Klezmer music
