Richard Long transforms his journeys into works of art.

Walking is a process and an artwork at the same time. In 2000, the land art artist would say: “My intention was to make a new art which was also a new way of walking: walking as art.”

The perfect circle of slate slabs placed on a plateau in Khao Yai Art Forest delivers a simple and powerful open interpretation of Infinity. The panoramic point of view over the rolling hills and the canopy echoes the notion of limitless space.

This almost Buddhist piece invites a meditation on life as a succession of repetitive yet changing cycles and never-ending loops of beginnings and endings. This peaceful circle of stones hints to the earthling dimension versus the mineral timeline. What is the lifetime of a human being compared to the millions of years and precise chemical reactions necessary to create stones and minerals. The circle of slate confronts the geological time versus the earthling time.

Special Activity
Forest Print
A complimentary eco-print workshop inviting visitors to connect with nature through hands-on making, using natural materials and simple processes inspired by the surrounding landscape. The workshop operates in alignment with Khao Yai Art Forest’s opening hours. This activity is included in the admission ticket at no additional cost and is open to walk-in participants without prior registration.

Groups of 10 guests or more are eligible for a special Full Site Admission rate of THB 400 per person.

Dining Discount
Groups participating in our Lunch or Dinner Experience receive a 10% discount on the total dining package
