KHC presents Great Lake Swimmers & Elliot BROOD

BALLADS & BADLANDS TOUR

Great Lake Swimmers + Elliott BROOD
Live at the Golden Civic Centre |  Tuesday October 28, 2025

Two of Canada’s most evocative and enduring folk-rooted bands come together for an unforgettable night in Golden.

Led by Tony Dekker, Great Lake Swimmers have spent over two decades crafting songs that are both grounded and transcendent — rooted in the natural world, yet expansive in their emotional reach. Their newest single, “One More Dance Around the Sun,” is a warm, analog-rich reflection on time, change, and perseverance. With backing vocals reminiscent of Laurel Canyon’s golden age and instrumentation shaped by some of Canada’s finest collaborators, the band continues to create music that feels intimate, timeless, and deeply human.

"Doing it the hard way for 20 years,” is a badge Elliott BROOD wear with honour. Two decades on, work, life and love have taken the trio in many directions, away from their hometowns and headfirst into an ongoing musical journey through distance and time. Now, after being members of this band for nearly half of their lives, Elliott BROOD is never more at home than in the wash of distorted, evocative strings and stomps that make their signature alt country sound. With smile lines and guitar fingers long hardened with callouses, Elliott BROOD has been doing it the hard way, but making it sound easy.

This evening offers a rare opportunity to experience two of Canada’s most thoughtful and dynamic bands on one stage — each offering a distinct but complementary voice in the national music landscape.
