Trauma Through the Lens of Neurodiversity

Wed 18 Sep 2024 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM BST Online, Zoom

Join us for this experiential, online training evening, delivered by Sue Bell OBE of Kids Inspire – an experienced child and adolescent psychotherapist and qualified attachment and trauma resolution specialist. Alongside her will be our neurodiversity specialists, Karen Chivas and Helen Potter.

Through this training, you will:

  • participate in group activities
  • have space to reflect
  • create your own toolbox, using a strengths-based approach that includes the tools of stabilisation and regulation

There will be an opportunity to talk confidentially about your experience with neurodivergent, non- and pre-verbal children through the lens of trauma informed practice.

By the end of the training, you will have learned:

  • some effective trauma treatments for non- and pre-verbal children
  • how to help ‘high needs’ children identify and grow their superpowers
  • inspiration and resources to help a child who learns differently
  • how to recognise and manage sensory overload and ‘masking’
  • Dan Siegal’s ‘Wheel of Awareness’ - a meditative exercise for children and parents/carers
  • how to support ‘high needs’ children to manage their feelings, get organised and develop self-regulation

Please note: This course is being delivered online. The link to join the event will be confirmed to attendees on the day.
