How to help children and young people regulate to reduce stress, anxiety, and overwhelm

Tuesday 15 September 2026 5-8pm | Online via Zoom

Gain the knowledge and confidence to better support children and young people affected by trauma.

Delivered by Sue Bell, OBE DL, an experienced therapist and qualified attachment and trauma resolution specialist, this session blends expert insight with hands-on learning.

Who is this training for?

Designed for professionals, parent/carers and volunteers who want to build their understanding and support children and young people confidently.

Through an interactive and creative approach, you’ll explore trauma-responsive interventions and the power of the arts in supporting recovery. Discover how to help young people reduce trauma-related symptoms and build their capacity for learning, resilience, self-regulation, positive relationships, and joy.

What you’ll learn:

  • How to recognise behaviours linked to traumatic experiences
  • How the brain responds to keep us safe
  • The impact of trauma on behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Practical tools and techniques to support stabilisation and regulation

This session is highly interactive, and we invite you to create a comfortable space, and have the following to hand:

  • Paper and coloured pens/pencils
  • Playdough or clay
  • Pillows and blankets
