Meet award-winning children’s author Lydia Monks for National Tree Week
Thu 28 Nov 2024 10:45 AM - 12:15 PM
Hillsborough Library, S6 4HD
Description
We’re thrilled to announce this free event as part of Sheffield’s annual Urban Tree Festival with our patron, Lydia Monks.
This drop-in is open to children and their grown-ups and will include story time and drawing with the award-winning children's author-illustrator.
Lydia's famous books include Adoette, the tale of how one tree becomes the beating heart of her community, right up until the day they cut her down. But there's hope, when one little girl takes one of her acorns to plant in the community garden.
Lydia is also famous for illustrating many of Julia Donaldson’s books including What The Ladybird Heard.
There will be a craft activity and chance to plant a seed to take home with you to watch grow.
Refreshments will be provided (hot and cold drinks, and biscuits). Please bring a reusable cup for drinks if you can.
This event has been commissioned by Sheffield Street Tree Partnership as part of National Tree Week. Funded by:
