Come tree planting with us!

We’re inviting local families to our free tree planting event.

We have all the equipment and experience needed to show you how to plant a tree and support the creation of a new community woodland.

The event is organised by Kids Plant Trees, in partnership with Harworth, the land and property regeneration company working to plant a huge new woodland between Ellington and Widdrington.

Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing for whatever delightful weather we might get!

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

When? Sunday 2nd February

What time? There are two time slots available: 1-2pm or 3-4pm

Where? Parking is limited so we have organised a shuttle bus from this car park off the A1608 to the planting site. It is approximately a 3-minute drive in the minibus.

What3Words? Use the following for the exact car parking location: ///prospers.diverts.blaring

If you have any accessibility requirements and need to park at the planting site, please contact the event organiser. (see contact details below) Use the following What3Words for the planting site, off High Thorn Lane: ///balancing.maps.choice

Information from the minibus company about children and car seats: “Babies and Toddlers will be allocated their own seat on the minibus. Parents are welcome to bring their own booster seat or baby seat however we do not supply them. Babies and parents cannot share a seatbelt in case of a harsh breaking situation. If the babies / toddlers are small, parents can hold them but they cannot be fastened in with the parent due to health and safety reasons.”

Facilities: There will be a portable toilet at the planting site. The nearest accessible toilet is Cresswell Public Toilets, Cresswell, Morpeth (approx. 3 miles, 7 minutes drive).

Refreshments: We'll be providing drinks (squash) and biscuits for participants - please let us know if you have any dietary requirements. Please bring a reusable cup for drinks if you can.

Accessibility: There is a small, hard standing car park at the planting site. The rest of the area where we're planting trees is field so please expect some rough terrain.

Booking: This is a free event but we ask that you book a ticket for every person coming along (except babes in arms), so we can bring enough refreshments. If you book tickets but are then unable to attend, please let us know so that we can reissue the tickets.

We welcome any donations to support our community and school projects, helping children and nature to thrive together. Thank you.
