Community tree planting event in Killamarsh

Would you like to help plant a new hedgerow?

We're inviting the local community to get involved in this tree planting event in Killamarsh as part of Harworth’s commitment to improve the biodiversity in the area and manage the site for 30 years.

We have all the equipment and experience to show you how to plant a tree. Just come along and give it a go!

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

This event is organised by Kids Plant Trees, in partnership with Harworth.

What you'll need:

Please wear suitable clothing for staying warm, and possible wet weather. We strongly advise wearing sturdy, waterproof shoes such as walking boots or wellies.

All equipment will be provided.

Refreshments provided - hot and cold drinks, and biscuits. Please bring a reusable cup for drinks if you can.

Getting here:

There is a public footpath down to the planting site off Upperthorpe Road, below the new housing by Homes by Honey and just down from Manor Road. See this image:

By car - There isn't a designated car park for this site but there is some street parking nearby including on Manor Road and Fanny Avenue. 

Accessibility:

Please note there are no public toilets on this site.

We are planting trees on a grassy area, which may be uneven, and also wet and muddy depending on the weather. Please let us know when you book if you have any access requirements.

We want everyone to feel welcome at our events and we have experience of working with children with special needs. If you want to discuss anything with us before the event, please let us know when you book.

If anyone in your family/group needs an interpreter, please let us know when you book.

Booking:

This is a FREE event but please book a ticket for everyone attending, including children (except babes in arms). If you book tickets but are then unable to attend, please email us at admin@kidsplanttrees.org to let us know, so we can reissue the tickets. If you would like to make a small donation to support our work, you can do this at time of booking or at the event (thank you).
