Family apple picking and seed gathering - Sheffield

Join us for a family apple picking and seed gathering event this October in a magical orchard setting. Our apple picking events have always been a big hit and this year will be even more fun-packed because we'll also be collecting seeds to grow at our community tree nursery. 🌳🍎😀

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

This event is organised by Kids Plant Trees, part funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.

Where is it: Flying Horse Lawn, Lodge Lane, Sheffield

When is it: Saturday 3rd October, 10.30am to 12.30pm

What you'll need:

Please wear suitable clothing for staying warm, and possible wet weather. We strongly advise wearing wellies or walking boots, as the site can get quite muddy! 

You'll also need a bag to carry your apples home. 🛍

Refreshments (hot/cold drinks and biscuits) will be provided - please bring a reusable cup if you can. 

Getting here:

The entrance is off Lodge Lane (see map below). Put Flying Horse Lawn into Google maps, and it will get you there! Don't put the postcode for Flying Horse Lawn in your SatNav, as it may take you elsewhere.

Parking is limited so please car share, walk, cycle or take the bus if you can. The venue is a short - if slightly tricky for little legs - walk from the 257 and 51 bus routes.

Accessibility & facilities:

Please note, the site may not be suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs, as the ground can be quite wet and boggy at times. 

There is a composting toilet on site, a few minutes walk from the orchard through woodland paths, with steps up to the toilet

Children's University:

If your child's school is registered with the Children's University, your child can collect credits at this event. Just bring their CU passport with you.

Booking:

Entry is £3 per person (except babes in arms). Price includes your first kilo of apples to take home. For each kilo after that we ask for a donation of £1 per kg. Additional donations welcome.
