The Think Smart Cyber Safety Initiative is a multi-award-winning programme dedicated to safeguarding the mental health, education, and future of our young people in County Galway.
We are bringing the Think Smart Collaborative community talk to the community of Kilkerrin. All neighbouring communities are welcome.
This event will bring together parents, educators, and community leaders to address the growing risks our youth face daily while using smart devices and social media. These risks include:
- Mental health struggles linked to online pressures
- Cyberbullying and online exploitation
- Screen addiction impacting education and development
- Exposure to harmful and disturbing content
- Legal consequences from online behaviour they may not fully understand
In light of recent events with AI and Grok, this support is never more needed. The rapid evolution of technology and AI-driven platforms has amplified these risks, making it critical for communities to act now.
The mission is clear: to educate and empower families and communities to protect our youth online. Think Smart has already delivered this talk to thousands of parents, educators, and community across Galway and the west with incredible impact.
Speakers on the night:
- Aoife Noone, CEO of Think Smart Cyber, Cyber Security and Mindset Expert, will be joined by three other experts on the night:
- A Detective Garda from the Garda National Cybercrime Bureau
- A Child & Adolescent Play Therapist
- Public Sector Lead for Justice, Local Government and Education from Cisco
Learn about current threats and risks and how to help your child/youth navigate the digital world safely, to be resilient, and develop a healthy mindset towards technology.
Together, we can prevent tragedy, build resilience, and create a safer future for our young people.
