Raising someone else's child - webinar
Wed 23 Oct 2024 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM BST
Online, Zoom
Description
Kinship and The Rees Centre at the University of Oxford are delighted to invite you to a webinar from 11am – 12.30pm on Wednesday 23 October 2024 where we will launch our groundbreaking study Raising Someone Else’s Child: The experiences of Black and Asian kinship carers in England.
The study addresses a significant gap in research about the experiences of kinship carers from Black and Asian communities. As the focus on kinship care grows, findings will be used to ensure that services, policy and practice are more attuned to the needs of Black and Asian kinship carers.
The research report is authored by Dr Priya Tah and Professor Julie Selwyn from The Rees Centre. It was commissioned by Kinship and supported by the KPMG Foundation.
The webinar will include a presentation of the findings, reflections from Beverley Barnett-Jones, a Trustee at Kinship, and peer researchers who worked on the study. There will also be opportunities for questions and to find out about plans for ensuring that the research is followed by action.
