Gathering: In Conversation with Kathleen Jamie

Join us in Pollokshields Library for a community reading and Q&A session with Scotland's Makar, Kathleen Jamie to celebrate her new book Cairn. An award-winning writer of both poetry and non-fiction, her work explores themes of nature, activism, climate change, place and memory.

This reading is part of a larger Gathering event which will take place in the library over the course of the day. Inspired by Cairn's idea of a common viewpoint shared by strangers, this event explores community relationships through shared acts of noticing and a series of family-focused activities. Expect collaging, collaborative poems and songs!

Accessibility

The library is wheelchair accessible via a ramp. There is an access toilet 13m (14yd) from the main entrance. Assistance dogs are welcome. We can provide a bowl of water for an assistance dog. Staff will be on hand to help with other access needs, or please let the event hosts know in advance of anything we can do to help.
