For 10 days, you’ll live and ride in one of the most wind-reliable, adrenaline-fuelled playgrounds on Earth, with an exclusive beachfront villa as your base and a small group of like-minded riders by your side.

This is no ordinary kiteboarding trip! It’s a chance to immerse yourself in the sport at the highest level, in one of the most exciting kiteboarding capitals on the planet.

🏠 Accommodation

We’ve secured exclusive use of this stunning beachfront property at Sunset Beach, just 5 minutes upwind from Kite Beach, Blouberg. The villa is split into 5 luxury self-contained apartments, each offering breathtaking views, private terraces and self-catering facilities.

Each ticket secures your exclusive use of one of the 5 apartments for you and your chosen crew (options for groups of 4, 2 or individual riders).

There are 10 places for "riders" who will be participating in the whole trip, including the Pro-hosted days.

 - each apartment also has capacity, in the double beds, for an optional "plus one" guest/partner (Apt 1 can accommodate 2 "plus one" guests) 

 - optional "plus one" tickets can be added to your basket at ticket selection where available

*please note: additional "plus one" guests cannot join Pro-hosted days.

Red Bull King of the Air (KOTA)

Trip dates have been chosen to coincide closely with Red Bull King of the Air 2025, with a view to maximising the chances of guests witnessing this incredible event live!

The wind window for the competition is 22nd November to 7th December

FAQs ??

What happens if there is no wind?

The trip will go ahead as planned regardless of wind conditions.

What about the Pro-hosted days?

The Pro hosted days will go ahead regardless of the wind conditions.

The organisers will liaise closely with our 2 pro riders in the days leading up to and during the trip to select the best days to commit to the Pro-hosted days, dependant on weather forecast, rider ability and the pro riders other professional commitments.

Aaron Hadlow pro hosted day - location will be decided 24-48 hrs in advance depending on weather forecast, sea conditions and rider ability.

Lewis Crathern pro-hosted day will take place at Langebaan Lagoon.

If conditions are not suitable for kiteboarding on the water, an alternative off-water agenda will be arranged with a view to ensuring all guests gain maximum benefit from the pro rider access.

What happens on the NON Pro-hosted days?

The trip will be hosted and by KiteBase owner David Donald

On “free days” guests will be free to spend their time however they choose.

If it’s windy the focus will be on kiteboarding and/or watching King of the Air when it gets the green light.

Special visit to Airush HQ:

Guests will also be treated to a special coffee morning and tour at Airush HQ and development centre in Muizenberg, as well as a session on the water with the Airush crew at their local spot! 

There will be an optional activity or excursion suggested each free day.

On windy days these will be shorter in duration and take place in the morning

On windless days they may be longer in duration and further afield

For example:

• Hikes
• Road trip
• Surfing
• Group visits to places of interest (kiteboarding or otherwise)
• Table mountain visit
• Winery visit
• Gym sessions

These suggestions will be entirely optional.

Guest may choose to do their own thing entirely on the free days.

(Any costs associated with free day activities/excursions are not included in the ticket price)

Is there somewhere near to buy groceries?

Yes, there is a Woolworth Food store a few minutes walk from the villa (for UK guests this is equivalent to M&S food!)

What is “load shedding” that I have heard about?

Travellers to Cape Town, South Africa, should be aware of potential load-shedding outages, which involve scheduled power cuts that can affect various services and amenities. It’s advisable to plan accordingly, keep essential devices charged, and stay informed about relevant load-shedding schedules.

The accommodation provided has its own backup power supply to help mitigate any inconvenience that may result from load shedding.

Do I need my own kiteboarding equipment?

Yes. All riders should have their own equipment.

We advise checking your equipment carefully for any signs of wear and tear or damage before you travel.

”PLUS ONE” guests

We wanted to give guests the option to bring a partner along where the accommodation allows.

So we have created “plus one” tickets for each double bed (excluding sofa beds and the twin/shared bedroom in Apt 1)

Plus one guests may be kiteboarders or non-kiteboarders.

Please be aware that “plus one” guests will not be able to join the group on Pro-hosted days (group size is limited to 10 guests riders for safety reasons as agreed with the Pro-host riders)

Arrival/departure days

Many international flight arrive in Cape Town in the morning. Guests should head straight to the accommodation

On 22nd November morning we will meet at the villa for coffee and introductions.

Guest are then free to spend the day however they prefer

If its windy riders can get on the water that day

If the King of the Air is on, we can head to Kite Beach to watch the action!

Red Bull King of the Air event (KOTA)

Trip dates have been chosen to coincide closely with the KOTA event with a view to maximising the chances of guests witnessing this incredible event live!

If KOTA starts on day 1 of the trip, guests will be able to head straight to the event site and see the action if they choose.

If the KOTA event starts after Tuesday 2nd December guests will obviously have the option to extend their stay and make their own accommodation arrangements before/after the trip dates.
