Muller Sustainability Glamorgan Workshop
Thu 17 Oct 2024 10:30 AM - 2:00 PM
Pancross Farm, CF62 3AJ
Description
Efficient Heifer Rearing for Whole Farm Sustainability
This round of on-farm workshops will focus on practical approaches to help maximise the overall return from heifer rearing. This will include discussions around:
- Optimising heifer growth rates through whole farm feed efficiency
- How efficient heifer rearing can improve longevity and lifetime production
- Utilisation of technologies to improve heifer submission rates
- The overall financial and carbon return of efficient heifer rearing
- Monitoring of KPIs for improved heifer performance
In addition to the on-farm performance gains, the learnings from these workshops have the potential to dramatically reduce the carbon footprint of milk production. Our target to produce milk with 30% lower emissions by 2030 relies on Müller farmers’ ongoing commitment to being some of the most progressive milk producers in the UK today. By adopting the very latest technology, research and best-practice into your farm management decisions, you are collectively achieving big reductions in carbon that make Müller’s milk a market leader for sustainability.
Please arrive at 10:30am for tea & coffee for an 11am start. The meeting will finish at 2:00pm & include lunch.
Biosecurity - please ensure you wear clean wellies that can be disinfected on farm.
