People Need People

Thu Apr 23, 2026 19:30 - 21:15 HKT Online, Zoom

Our Invitation

“How do we begin to make sense of the failings of the existing systems, and how do we, together, live into new systems that generate vitality to individuals, communities, and the biosphere?”

One may have mixed states of wonder, bewilderment, and upset that despite claims for “progress” and promises for “better” futures, we are confronted with growing social maladies and insidious consequences of climate change and ecological upheaval.

And it's not just that and nothing more.

So then... “How do we think our way through the messes we’re in, when the way we think is part of the mess?”

People Need People, a Warm Data Lab-based online project developed by the International Bateson Institute, offers an intergenerational and mutual learning space to ponder & remember the sacredness of relationships through sharing stories and noticing what’s coming alive. It is a process for groups who are interested in strengthening their ability to perceive and discuss complex issues.

People Need People is neither a training nor a workshop by conventional understanding. It does not preface with learning objectives or give explicit outcomes. It does not provide solutions, rather it offers practice for thinking in complexity. This does not mean there's no theory-informed method. This is by careful design.

Warmth is better shared with loved ones, consider coming with a friend or family member if you can!

With gratitude,

Brent Que, Ludovic Curtil, Francis Laleman, Dr. Anna Itkin
