Love Hurts? We Need a Reality Check

Forget every pop song – love never hurts! Love cannot hurt. The problem is we don’t know what love is, actually. We use the word many times a day - but ask yourself if you know what it is. Could you explain it clearly and precisely to someone? And most importantly can you distinguish between love and attachment?

Attachment hurts but never love. Attachment hurts ourselves and others. It gives rise to anger and jealousy. It makes us stupid and insensitive, sometimes even crazy. We can see what we need to do: cultivate love, reduce and abandon attachment. In this way we become happier ourselves and all our relationships become more positive and rewarding.
