Concentration enables the mind to remain on its chosen object single-pointedly. The ability to concentrate is so practical in our daily life to keep a calm and focused mind – it’s a very useful everyday tool we can all use!
The ability to concentrate on virtuous objects (objects which are a true cause of happiness) during meditation is very important if we are to progress and gain realisations in our practice. More generally, concentration supports our ability to hold a stable, peaceful mind which in turn enables us deal with our day-to-day problems in a proactive and effective way rather than through our usual negative feelings and responses.
Everyone is welcome at this retreat which will be guided by Gen Kelsang Dragden, Resident Teacher at KMC Plymouth. Participants will gain practical experience of this fundamental meditation tool. You may attend as many or few sessions as you choose.
